Best Vegan Burger EVER

Time
Approx. 30-40 min

Tips

Start by cooking the lentils and cutting the burger fillings as the patties get done pretttty fast :)
So cut the veggies, vegan cheese, prep some sauce, maybe fries, etc etc :)

Ingredients
Don't forget to buy or make the BUNS! (I won't add a recipe for buns)

For the patties

(it was enough for a lot of patties, can't remember but maybe 10-12):
  • 2-3 big potatoes (grated)
  • 2 tbsp of corn flour
  • 100g of lentils (cooked)
  • 1 tbsp of salt
  • some pepper
  • 1 tsp of marjoram
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • Oil for cooking
Burger-fillings:
  • 1 red onion (1/2 used raw, 1/2 roasted)
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 5 leaves of salad
  • pickles
  • handful of mushrooms roasted with 1/2 of the onions (sugar and salt)
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 bell pepper
  • Mustard
  • Ketchup
  • Vegan smoked cheese (VIOLIFE - absolutely amazing stuff)

The Magic

1. Cook the lentils til soft
2. Chop 1/2 of the red onion and mushrooms, and roast them with little sugar and salt
3. You can start to chop the burger fillings (be ready with them before you start to fry the patties)
4. Peel and grate the potatoes
5. Mix them with flour, spices and the cooked lentils (it will not necessarily stick well together, don't worry about it, the starch in the potatoes will do the work in the oil :D )
6. Heat up the oil - I used coconut oil (enough for the patties to sink in) - medium heat
7. Form flat patties and put them in the oil, fry it until they become golden brown
8. Absorb the oil from the patties with some paper towel
9. Stack it as high on the buns as you want :P add the sauces and yeeez... ENJOY IT!!!

Huuhhhh my mouth is watering as I am just writing this recipe... so nice... gosh... with all the crunchy veggies and the even crunchier potato patty... mmmmmm... :)
